Lafayette court to get new judge

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Gov. Mitch Daniels has appointed a Tippecanoe Superior Court magistrate to fill the judicial vacancy created by the elevation of Justice Loretta Rush to the Indiana Supreme Court.
Daniels on Monday named Faith Graham of West Point to the Lafayette bench.
Graham currently is a juvenile magistrate in the court where she will become judge. She's a former Tippecanoe County deputy public defender and a member of the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges. She's also an adjunct instructor in criminal justice at Ivy Tech.
She earned her law degree from the Indiana University McKinney School of Law in Indianapolis.
Her appointment will take effect at a later date.
