Lapel man arrested for March burglaires

LAPEL, Ind. (WISH) - An arrest was made in regards to March burglaries in Lapel.

According to police, Raymond C. Compenstine, 41, of Lapel was arrested for burglarizing the American Legion and the Eales Lodge.

Compenstine was charged with four counts of Class C Felony Burglary and four counts of Class D Felony Theft for four different burglaries.

Compenstine also faces charges in Anderson Indiana of burglary after he was arrested in the process of committing a burglary at the Shriners Club, police stated.

Police say they obtained search warrants for two different storage sheds, one in Lapel and one in Noblesville where they found evidence and goods purchased with the stolen money from the burglaries.

The investigation found multiple after the fact witnesses and a statement admitting guilt from Compenstine, the police release stated.

Compenstine is currently being held in the Madison County Jail with a full cash bond of $10,000.
