KOKOMO, Ind. (WISH) - A Kokomo man is in jail after police said he robbed a convenience store armed with a large tree branch, 24-Hour News 8 news partner the Kokomo Tribune reports .
Officers were called to the Village Pantry on Home Avenue at about 7 a.m. Tuesday reporting the robbery. The clerk told police the man came in brandishing the tree branch, walked behind the counter and forced the clerk to open the cash register. He took cash and cigarettes, then fled.
An anonymous tip led investigators to a nearby apartment complex, Garden Square, where they found Michael Wilson, 34, Kokomo. He was preliminarily charged with robbery and was being held in Howard County Jail without bond.
