ANDERSON, Ind. (WISH) - Indiana State Excise Police served two search warrants in Anderson Sunday afternoon which led to the arrest of alcohol and drug charge on two people.
Around 1:00 p.m., excise police served search warrants at Red's Pool Hall, 2128 Arrow Avenue, and the residence of Charles Scaife, II, 61, 2239 Menifee Street, according to police.
Excise police officers say they had been investigating Scaife illegally selling alcoholic beverages without a permit for nearly six months.
The investigation led to the arrest of Scaife, who is preliminary charged with maintaining a common nuisance, a felony, sale of alcoholic beverages without a permit, a misdemeanor, and sale of alcoholic beverages when times unlawful, also a misdemeanor.
Sherrie Y. Mitchell, 50, of Anderson, was also arrested on a preliminary charge of possession of marijuana (under 30 grams), police released.
During the search, officers say they seized approximately $300 in cash, around 50 cases of various brands of beer, 25 bottles of various brands of liquor and four guns.
A small amount of marijuana was also found in the pool hall on the floor and in containers.
