WEST LEBANON, Ind. (WISH) - Indiana Conservation Officers arrested a convicted felon for hunting while having his hunting license suspended.

Officers arrested 40-year-old Charles L. Cadle of Newton on opening day of rabbit season when he was found hunting rabbits along an abandoned railroad track in Warren County.

According to a release from the Department of Natural Resources, Cadle was seen holding a firearm along the roadway. When officers approached him, Cadle entered a wooded area and reappeared on the roadway without the firearm.

Officers later found the firearm in the wooded area.

Cadle's hunting privileges have been suspended. Cadle is also a convicted felon and is prohibited from possessing a firearm under federal law.
