Man pleads guilty to robbing bank, shooting dog

ANDERSON, Ind. (WISH) - An Anderson man has pleaded guilty to robbing a bank and shooting a police dog , 24-Hour News 8 news partner The Herald Bulletin reports .

Joseph Turner, 22, Anderson, on Tuesday pleaded guilty to charges including armed robbery, criminal recklessness and striking a law enforcement animal.

The charges stem from the robbery at PNC Bank on Nichol Avenue in August . According to court documents, Turner demanded money while brandishing a gun, then escaped with the cash on a mountain bike. As police chased him, he shot a police dog, who died a few days later.

Turner will be sentenced Feb. 5.
