Man shot near downtown Muncie

MUNCIE, Ind. (WISH) - Police responded to a shooting Wednesday afternoon near downtown Muncie.
A white male was shot near East Third Street and Jefferson Street in the vicinity of the Millennium Place housing complex.
The man was reportedly shot while sitting inside of an SUV. He was taken to IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital.
Police say the shooting may be related to a robbery. Several cars were seen leaving the area after shots were heard.
It has not yet been determined which vehicle had the gunman inside.
Police say the victim said he was in the neighborhood visiting a friend. He was unable to provide police with the name of that person.
