LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Emergency crews responded to an emergency call of two people who fell and injured themselves on the 1700 block of Wabash Avenue at the Lafayette Wastewater Plant Friday afternoon.

Our sister station WLFI says two men fell into the digester at Lafayette Wastewater Plant.

The men were working in the digester, performing routine maintenance, when the scaffolding shifted and fell. The two men fell about 20 feet.

One man has a head injury and one has a broken leg. They have both been taken to an area hospital.

EMTs say both men were conscious and speaking when they were placed in the ambulances.
