MULBERRY, Ind. (WISH) - Officials say a 7-year-old boy is dead after a house fire in Mulberry Saturday morning.
Dispatchers say the fire broke out just before 1 a.m. in the 200 block of South Main Street. The Rossville Fire Department was called to assist with the fire.
When crews arrived they learned a child was in a bedroom upstairs. They were unable to save the boy due to the amount of fire in the home.
Officials say the boy, who has been identified as Noaha Vaughn-Linderer, was killed in the incident. His three family members, Victoria L. Vaughn, Gregory Linderer, and Avery Vaughn-Wallce, were taken to IU Hospital in Lafayette for smoke inhalation.
Firefighters say it took about two hours to get the fire under control.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
