Police investigating one killed in Monticello shooting

MONTICELLO, Ind. (WISH) - The Monticello Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Thursday morning in Monticello.

Officers arrived on scene around 3:15 a.m. Thursday morning and found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to his torso. The victim was taken to IU White Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead, our partners at the Herald Journal report.

The man was later identified as 29-year-old Tye A. Rentfrow.

The Monticello Police Department, White County Sheriff's Department, the Indiana State Police, and the White County Coroner's office.
