LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI - Close to 100 flags may catch the eye of drivers while traveling on Main Street. The owner of a well-known patriotic house has passed away.
Ralph Keegan never served for our country. However, supporting our troops that fight for our freedom was something he was really passionate about. His yard is filled with American flags representing our troops. His porch is covered with flags that represent area soldiers who lost their lives fighting for our country, our sister station WLFI reports.
Keegan's youngest daughter, Margeret, said her father had been sick for the past couple weeks. She said one of his favorite things to do was hand out flags.
"It started off with a couple of little kids and another kid, another kid and more people. He's done that so many times over and over. He's got spare flags in there right now. He's never without extra flags," Keegan said.
Margeret said the flags will still cover the lawn and porch of 1822 Main St. as long as she's living there.
