LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Tippecanoe County Deputies said another phone scam has hit the Lafayette area, and investigators continue to warn residents that if you're not careful, your bank accounts could be in jeopardy.

Earlier this week, several people  received text messages that read, "The credit union center alert, your card has been deactivated, please call (765) 637-2846," our sister station WLFI reports.

According to deputies, another scam reading, "Alliance Bank Alert, your ATM card has been deactivated, please call (765) 637-2806," was reported on Saturday.

Deputies said both text messages are a scam and you should not respond. If you have any questions, call local authorities or your bank.
