ANDERSON, Ind. (WISH) - Police say a man may have suffered a stroke while driving, causing him to crash into a pole Monday afternoon.
Officials say the incident occurred on CR 100 W, just north of Anderson around 5 p.m. According to a press release, 38-year-old Michael Lemon was driving south on the road when the vehicle crossed the roadway and struck a cattle fence. The vehicle then veered across the road and struck a utility pole.
Lemon was taken to Community Hospital in Anderson for treatment for a possible back injury. A passenger in Lemon's car refused treatment on the scene.
Officials believe Lemon suffered a stroke and the passenger of the car tried to gain control of the vehicle. The passenger was able to get the vehicle out of gear just before the vehicle struck the utility pole.
