LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - An incident Friday night is being called strange, even by Lafayette Police. Now, they are investigating.

It all happened at the intersection of 9th Street and Beck Lane around 7 p.m. Police said a man stopped his moped and tried to climb in several other vehicles stopped at the intersection, our sister station WLFI reports.

He ended up breaking the window out of a truck, then held on to the door frame. The two teens inside had to beat him off. Police said he then grabbed on to the tailgate for a block or two until he was knocked off again.

The man was found in Armstrong Park and taken to the hospital for his injuries. Police believe mental illness may be a factor but they aren't ruling out drugs or alcohol.
