ANDERSON, Ind. (WISH) - Police in Anderson and Pendleton arrested a suspect who fled from police Saturday morning.
Pendleton Police say they were called to help in a police pursuit after a suspect fled from Anderson police in a vehicle. Police were told the suspect had crossed into Pendleton.
When officers caught up with the suspect, they fired stopping sticks at his tires to stop the vehicle. But, the suspect refused to stop and continued to travel down the roadway. The suspect eventually crashed into a home, officials say.
It is not yet clear exactly where that home is located in Pendleton.
The suspect then led police on a foot chase, but was able to get away. Officers say the suspect ran over an officer's foot with the car and shots were fired at some point during the chase.
Police later tracked the man to a residence in Avon and took him into custody, 24-Hour News 8's news partner The Herald Bulletin reports.
