WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) - The Land O'Lakes Foundation is partnering with Purdue University to create an endowed chair in food and agribusiness.

Agricultural economics professor Allan Gray will fill the position.

The foundation has donated $750,000 for the chair with Purdue matching that amount.

Gray's previous position at Purdue was agricultural chair of excellence in engagement. Purdue's Board of Trustees confirmed the name change to reflect the donation by Minnesota-based Land O'Lakes.

Dean of Purdue Agriculture Jay Akridge says the endowed chair will enhance Gray's research and engagement program focused on issues facing the agribusiness industry. Gray works with agribusinesses and cooperatives such as Land O'Lakes in designing business strategy programs for agribusiness industries.
