ROME, Italy (WLFI) - A group of Purdue students studying abroad got to witness history.

Kristen Clark, Abby Diebolt, Baily Altman, and Heather Smith spoke via Skype with our sister station WLFI Friday evening from Italy. They're there as part of a week-long study abroad trip with the College of Agriculture.

It just so happened the trip coincided with the election of Pope Francis. They were in the Vatican when he was announced and said the experience was awesome.

The students return to the States Saturday.
