MADISON COUNTY, Ind. (Herald Bulletin) - The Madison County Recorder is being investigated by the Indiana State Police.

Angela Shelton, Madison County Recorder, is being investigated in connection to allegations that she used county equipment for political purposes, 24-Hour News 8’s the Herald Bulletin reports.

A series of emails were sent in four batches to the Republican precinct committeemen from the recorder’s office.

The emails virtually paralyzed Madison County’s email system.

Emails were traced back to Shelton’s first deputy and political appointee's county-issued email account.
