HOWARD COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) - A child died on Monday in a car crash that officials say was caused by the weather.

Howard County officials confirm there was a fatal car crash at 5339 W. 100 North, a few miles outside of Kokomo, Ind. It was a head-on collision. The Howard County Sheriff's Department says 9-year-old Skyler Grant was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two other people — drivers of the vehicles that collided — were injured and transported to local hospitals. Police say Rebekah Grant was driving a 2000 Pontiac Sunfire when she lost control on the slick road, crossing the center line into the path of an oncoming pickup truck.

Several other slide-offs and accidents have been reported in Howard County as a result of slick roads.

Also in Howard County, a vehicle crashed into an electric pole, knocking out electricity to thousands in Greentown, Ind.
