KOKOMO, Ind. (AP) - Leaders of a small Christian elementary school in central Indiana say they have to close its doors because of declining enrollment.
Students at Kokomo Christian School are in their final weeks of classes for the school year and face having to say goodbye soon to their classmates and teachers.
Principal Suzette Randall tells the Kokomo Tribune ( http://bit.ly/JgWZ4j ) that the school has seen its number of students declining for years, but has been able to survive until now. The school once had more than 300 students in kindergarten through high school, but now has 59 children in pre-school through sixth grade.
