DAYTON, Ind. (WLFI) - Crews responded to a report of a structure fire in Dayton, Ind. Tuesday morning, where a few neighbors and even a good Samaritan raced to help a woman who was on fire.
Tippecanoe County Sheriff’s dispatchers confirmed at 11:45 a.m. Tuesday that a fire was reported at a residence on Cagles Mill Drive in Dayton.
Several area fire crews, including Sheffield Fire Department and Lafayette Fire Department, responded to the call.
It was confirmed a woman who came out of the house was on fire. After several women who live across the street from the residence that was on fire weren't able to pull the lady out, a motorist passing the house stopped and helped put her out. His name is Keith Henderson.
Henderson said he was on his way to work when he heard screams coming from the front yard of the house on fire. He said he jumped out and he, along with neighbors, were able to get the flames on the woman out.
