Suicidal man found dead after fire

MARION, Ind. (WISH) - A man threatening to blow up his house and kill himself was found dead after his house caught fire in the midst of a standoff with police, Grant County Sheriff’s Office officials said Thursday.
The 49-year-old man was under investigation for a child molesting case. He barricaded himself with a shotgun around 10:21 p.m. Wednesday. It was more than two hours later that sheriff’s deputies saw smoke and fire in the home. They went inside but had to leave the house after two minutes because of intense heat.
After the blaze was extinguished, the man was found dead inside.
