KOKOMO, Ind. (Kokomo Tribune) - A former Kokomo swimmer won a $2.5 million settlement from her coach, but she’s unlikely to get the money from him as he serves a 33-year prison sentence.

24-Hour News 8’s news partner, the Kokomo Tribune , reports former swim coach Brian Hindson secretly recorded video of swimmer Brooke Taflinger undressing.

The case led to a lawsuit targeting multiple defendants, including Kokomo-Center Schools. The school system was excused from the lawsuit in December 2010.

The settlement approved by a U.S. Southern District Court judge is against Hindson and Central Indiana Aquatics, his former coaching company.

While Hindson is unlikely to be able to pay the $2.5 million settlement, the newspaper reports the swimmer’s lawyer may pursue USA Swimming’s insurance carrier for the money.
