CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. (WLFI) - A North Montgomery High School student was killed Wednesday night and another teenager was injured after a three-vehicle crash.

It happened around 9:30 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. 231 and County Road 550 North. The student killed has been identified as 17-year-old Raelyn L. Earley of Crawfordsville, according to Montgomery County Sheriff Mark Casteel.

Sheriff Casteel said Earley was killed after her car was rear-ended and sent into oncoming traffic. Another 17-year-old student in the second car claims she did not see Earley stopped in the road and rear-ended her. A truck driven by 39-year-old Rob Strasser of West Lafayette then struck Earley's car.

Earley was taken to Franciscan St. Elizabeth Hospital in Crawfordsville where she was pronounced dead. The 17-year-old student was taken the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Strasser and his passenger were not injured.

The investigation continues, toxicology results are pending.
