ANDERSON, Ind. (WISH) - The Anderson woman who gained fame by starring in MTV’s “Teen Mom” will spend time in prison after failing a drug court rehabilitation program, 24-Hour News 8’s news partner, The Herald Bulletin , reports.
Amber Portwood was given the opportunity to participate in the drug court rehab program as part of a plea agreement. The agreement spelled out that her failure to complete the program would result in a five-year prison sentence.
The now 22-year-old was convicted of felony domestic battery and possession of medication without a valid prescription.
Portwood said her experience with MTV shows “16 and Pregnant” and “Teen Mom” exposed her to additional drug temptations. She said she wished she hadn’t participated in the reality shows.
