ANDERSON, Ind. (WISH) - An Anderson man was arrested early Saturday morning after police say a traffic stop led to the discovery of illegal drugs in the car.

Joshua D. Shaffer, 24, was riding in a 1988 Chevrolet Celebrity west bound on 38th Street at Oaklawn Drive, when a trooper noticed he was not wearing a seatbelt.

The trooper pulled over the car and began to speak to the occupants of the car after becoming suspicious of their behavior.

After further investigation, the trooper noticed that Shaffer was in possession of pills believed to be Hydrocodone, without a prescription, according to a police release.

Shaffer was lodged in the Madison County Jail for Possession of a Controlled Substance, Class "D" Felony, with a $5000 bond, the release stated.

The driver and other passenger of the vehicle were cited for traffic violations and released.
