CLINTON COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) - The Indiana State Police at the Lafayette Post worked with Clinton Prairie School Corporation Wednesday to enforce stop arm violations.

Officers and administrators were watching for violations on State Road 39 in Clinton County.

A trooper rode in a Clinton Prairie School bus and was watching for violations. Troopers on side roads were in contact with the trooper on the bus and were ready to stop cars if a violation occurred.

No arrests were made Wednesday, but State Police want to remind residents that moving your car when a bus has its lights flashing and stop arm extended is a Class A infraction which is punishable by a fine of up to $1,000.

Sergeant Kim Riley with the Indiana State Police says other school systems have reported similar violations. State Police will work with those schools to catch violators.
