PENDLETON, Ind. (WISH) - A 30-year-old woman is facing charges after apparently trying to smuggle a cell phone into the Correctional Industrial Facility in Pendleton, Ind.
Two guards watched as Tonya Vinson passed a package containing a cell phone to an offender Sunday afternoon, the facility said Tuesday in a news release.
Correctional Police Officers and Indiana State Police were called and took the woman into custody. She was booked into the Madison County Jail.
Vinson faces a C Felony charge of trafficking with an offender.
Facility rules bar visitors from carrying cell phones into the visiting area.
