INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - A police office is hurt after an accident that left him trapped in his car.

It happened around 2 a.m. Thursday in the 6200 block of Georgetown Road. Police say a taxi driver ran through a red light on 62nd street and hit the officer's patrol car.

It took rescue crews 30 minutes to get the officer out. Authorities say the officers injuries are not life threatening.
