ZIONSVILLE, Ind. (WISH) - Police are investigating a deadly accident in Boone County.

Authorities say just before 1 a.m. Thursday, a car went off the road near the intersection of 334 and Michigan Road.

Investigators say it appears the man started to slide off the road, regained some control of his car, then slammed into a telephone pole.

"It appears as though simply drove off the road way. Once he got into the embankment he continued into a straight path until he flew over a ditch and then struck the telephone pole," said Richard Dowden, Zionsville Town Marshal.

Authorities say they do not believe weather or alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
