JENNINGS CO., IN.(WISH) - 5 people are in jail Sunday, after being arrested Saturday during traffic stops in Jennings County.
Trooper stopped a 1988 Ford pickup truck on State Road 7 after 9am, for a traffic violation near the entrance to Country Squire Lakes.
After further investigation it was discovered the passenger, 37 year old Brad P. Lennon of North Vernon was in possession of methamphetamine and a controlled substance.
He also had an active warrant for his arrest out of Scott County for theft.
The driver, 43 year old John P. Blount of North Vernon was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and a controlled substance.
Both were transported to the Jennings County Jail.
Then, at 10:40 am Trooper Miller made another traffic stop on State Road 7 near County Road 300 North on a 1993 Jeep for an expired temporary registration plate.
The driver of the Jeep, 24 year old Harold Chaffin of North Vernon was found to be in possession of paraphernalia and was also operating a vehicle while never being licensed.
Chaffin was arrested transported to Jennings County Jail.
At 2:30 Saturday afternoon Trooper Miller stopped a 2000 PT Cruiser on State Road 7 near County Road 300 North for a traffic violation.
During the course of the stop, Trooper Miller learned the passenger in the vehicle, 47 year old Beverly Granger of North Vernon was wanted on a warrant out of Johnson County for theft.
Johnson was then transported to the Jennings County Jail.
Later, at 3:39 pm Trooper Miller conducted another traffic stop on State Road 7 near Country Squire Lakes of a 1997 Jeep Cherokee for a traffic violation.
During the course of the traffic stop Trooper Miller suspected the driver, 57 year old Henry L. Schultz of North Vernon to be intoxicated.
After completion of the initial on-scene investigation, Schultz was transported to the Jennings County Jail were a breath test indicated his B.A.C. exceeded the .08 limit.
Schultz was subsequently charged with Operating a Vehicle while Intoxicated.
