GREENWOOD, Ind. (Daily Journal) - Two big names in Hoosier basketball will help the Greenwood Public Library, which has struggled with its finances recently, 24-Hour News 8 news partner the Daily Journal reports.

Former Indiana University basketball coach Bob Knight and retired NBA All-Star Tom Van Arsdale will both appear at an October fundraiser. Proceeds from the event will go to support the library.

The event is at 7 p.m. Oct. 18 at The Gathering Place in Greenwood. Tickets will cost between $100 and $250 and should go on sale in May.

Van Arsdale lives in Arizona but grew up in Greenwood. His family frequented the library.

While Knight has no direct connection to the Greenwood Public Library, he’s a family friend of Van Arsdale’s and has a history of supporting other libraries.
