CENTERTON, Ind. (WISH) - The Indiana State Police have identified the person who was killed in a fatal accident that closed SR 67 Monday afternoon.

Officials have identified the victim as 29-year-old Jeff Hopsen of Indianapolis. Police say Hopson was traveling at a high rate of speed in the wrong direction on northbound SR 67. He was struck by a truck head on. The impact spun the car sideways and was hit by another truck.

Hopson was pronounced dead on scene. The driver of the truck was taken to Methodist Hospital via medical helicopter for leg and shoulder injuries.

The impact of the crash split the silver Buick in half.

Police say Hopson was involved in a domestic dispute early Monday in Marion County. When police arrived on scene, he fled the home. Minutes later, officers say Hopson car-jacked the Buick.

Police still do not know why Hopson was traveling the wrong way on the highway.

The incident occurred in Morgan County just north of Martinsville.

All lanes of northbound SR 67 near Centerton Road were closed for a few hours Monday afternoon.
