BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (WISH) - An assistant football coach has lost his job and is facing a felony charge after players told school officials he showed them nude photos of women on his cell phone.

Derrick Hill, 26, is facing a Class D felony charge of dissemination of material harmful to minors. Monroe County Community Schools officials say he is no longer an employee of the school system.

Hill was an assistant football coach at Batchelor Middle School, court documents say. The school’s assistant principal, who is also the athletic director, contacted authorities about it after interviewing two students about the incident.

The incident happened during a study hall in the school’s cafeteria in the fall, according to court documents. Only football players were present at the time. Students told school officials that Hill scrolled through various nude photos of women on his cell phone, showing them to the boys.

Hill told police he didn’t intentionally show the boys nude photos. He said he opened his phone, unaware that someone had sent him a “semi-nude” photo of a woman, court documents reveal. He said some of the boys noticed and wanted to look at it, but he refused to show them.
