MORGAN COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) - Stopping for a dog that ran into the road left a woman injured when another vehicle read-ended her stopped car.
Indiana State Police say Peggy St-John, 52, of Cloverdale, was eastbound on Interstate 70 in Morgan County when a stray dog entered the road. She braked, coming nearly to a stop, when a semitrailer struck her vehicle from behind.
The incident happened around 9:24 a.m. Monday. St-John was taken to St. Vincent Hospital for neck injuries. The truck driver wasn’t injured.
Indiana State Police officials say drugs and alcohol were not a factor in the crash, and no one was cited.
The dog was hit during the accident and died.
An historic vote will take place in Fishers sooner than expected.
