Family of school shooting victim sues

MARTINSVILLE, Ind. (WISH) - The family of the boy shot at a Martinsville middle school in March is suing the school district for neglecting to properly protect the boy.

The lawsuit filed in a Morgan County court seeks unspecified damages as a result of the shooting. Chance Jackson was 15 at the time of the shooting at Martinsville West Middle School.

The lawsuit seeks damages for the family’s losses and legal costs. It only names the Metropolitan School District of Martinsville.
