JOHNSON COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) - An Indianapolis man was killed when he lost control of a street sweeper early Tuesday morning on Interstate 65.
Investigators said 38-year-old Christopher Buster was heading back to Indianapolis after sweeping some areas in Columbus. Witnesses said he was driving northbound when he swerved into the median before driving across both northbound lanes and flipping his vehicle four times.
Buster was ejected from the vehicle. A motorist who stopped to help said Buster asked what happened and said he couldn't feel his legs or back. He died moments later.
The incident happened near Whiteland and closed northbound lanes of traffic Tuesday morning. Lanes were opened again before 8 a.m.
Traffic was diverted onto Whiteland Road and up U.S. 31 for about three hours while emergency crews cleaned up the crash.
