FRANKLIN, Ind. (WISH) - Police say an apartment fire in Franklin led them to arrest a woman on methamphetamine charges.

Franklin City firefighters responded to the fire in the unit block of East Adams Street on Dec. 11. Investigators later determined the blaze was the result of a meth lab, Indiana State Police officials said.

Officers connected Emily K. Fikes to the lab, ISP officials said, and she was arrested Wednesday afternoon.

Fikes, 34, is facing charges of manufacturing/dealing meth, possession of two or more precursors, maintaining a common nuisance and possession of paraphernalia.

ISP encourages people to report suspected meth labs in their neighborhoods by calling 800-453-4756 or by reporting their suspicions at www.meth.in.gov .
