HENDRICKSVILLE, Ind. (AP) - Two southern Indiana firefighters were taken to a hospital for treatment of heat exhaustion after working to put out a house fire.

Crews from five fire departments responded to the fire Wednesday near the Greene County community of Hendricksville. Van Buren Township firefighter Aaron Norris tells The Herald-Times that a Van Buren firefighter and an Eastern Greene firefighter were treated and released from a Bloomington hospital.

No one was living in the house that the owner says was undergoing renovations after the most recent renters had moved out.

Firefighters were at the scene for more than three hours as temperatures topped 90 degrees in the area.
