GREENWOOD, Ind. (WISH) - A public meeting in Greenwood Wednesday night focused on finalizing plans for the city’s new $10 million aquatic center.
Demolition began on Monday on the city’s old pool. Leaders say an inspection done earlier this year showed parts of the 50-year-old pool house were unsafe.
The new aquatic center will be built at Freedom Park.
Freedom Park is a 79-acre park on the city’s southwest side. There are plans for a lazy river, a splash area for kids, and a green space off to the side for lounging.
There is no word at this time on when construction will begin.
