GREENWOOD, Ind. (WISH) - A popular fondue restaurant in Greenwood has closed.

The Melting Pot in Greenwood closed its doors on Monday due to economic and financial reasons.

"We sincerely regret the impact this has had on our guests and our family of team members...We are grateful for the opportunity to serve this community for the past six years at this location," the restaurant said in a news release Monday.

Restaurant employees say there are no plans to re-open the restaurant or open another Greenwood location at this time.

The employees have been notified of the closure and have been offered positions at other melting pot locations.

The Greenwood Melting Pot opened in 2006 and was located at 1259 N. SR 135.
