INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Bones found in Newton, Ill. are not those of missing Indiana University student Lauren Spierer.

Jasper County coroner Jason Meyer says the bones found March 10 in a wooded area are male, which rules out Spierer but not missing Plainfield man Morgan Johnson.

Bloomington Police Department was among a list of agencies waiting to hear about the bones because of pending missing persons cases.

Spierer disappeared on June 3 in Bloomington after a night out with friends. Johnson has been missing since May 18.
