BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (WISH) - Monroe and Morgan counties - where Ind. 37 was closed Wednesday morning after dozens of vehicles were stuck in the snow - were among several counties to declare travel warnings, meaning roadways were restricted to emergency vehicles only.
Ind. 37 had reopened by midday, but Indiana State Police advised continued caution and said any travel not essential should be avoided.
As of about noon, nine counties had issued travel warnings. Most of central and southern Indiana, however, was under some sort of travel advisory or watch.
A travel watch means conditions are threatening public safety and only essential traffic should be on the roads. A travel advisory means travel may be restricted, and caution is needed.
