TRAFALGAR, Ind. (WISH) - Schools were put on lockdown Thursday morning after police said a nearby bank was robbed in Trafalgar.

Trafalgar Police said they were investigating the robbery of Mutual Savings Bank at State Road 135 and State Road 252. School officials say it happened around 10:40 a.m., when they were notified by police.

All four schools in the Nineveh-Hensley-Jackson United School Corp. were locked down as a result of the incident. That includes Indian Creek High School. School officials said at 12:25 p.m. the schools were no longer locked down.

Later Thursday, 24-Hour News 8 news partner the Daily Journal reported a Franklin man was arrested in connection with the robbery. Tobie Dennis, 33, was preliminarily charged with possession of marijuana and resisting law enforcement, along with a parole violation. Police said Dennis matched the description of the robbery suspect, and he also had cash that police believed came from the robbery.

Police used a dog to chase Dennis down after he ran from officers and jumped into a nearby pond, the Daily Journal reports.
