BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) - Two new pedestrian crosswalks are being designated for a busy street on Indiana University's campus near where a student was fatally struck by a car in September.

University officials say the crosswalks will be completed on Fee Lane when students return to classes after spring break on March 22.

The mid-block crosswalks are planned for near the McNutt Quad residence hall and the Kelley School of Business building.

The university also plans a pedestrian safety awareness campaign that will include information on campus Web sites, Facebook and Twitter messaging, handouts, posters and bus placards.

The project was recommended by a campus safety task force after 19-year-old Peter Duong of Terre Haute was killed while crossing Fee Lane.
