INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - A Kroger employee was injured when cases of bottled water fell on her, a fire department spokesman said.

The woman, in her late 30s, was working in the warehouse portion of the Kroger in Franklin Monday morning when she was injured, Franklin Fire Department spokesman Ryan Piercefield said.

She was in cardiac arrest and unresponsive when medics arrived, he said. A deliveryman who arrived to drop off a shipment found the woman on the ground and called 911.

Piercefield was unsure whether the woman was working alone in the back of the store and how long she'd been on the ground before the deliveryman found her.

Both Kroger officials and Franklin police are investigating the incident to piece together what happened, Franklin Fire Department deputy chief Justin Lollar said. It appears that a pallet of water fell on the woman, but Lollar didn't know how many cases of water were on the pallet, he said.

She was taken to Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin.
