GREENWOOD, Ind. (WISH) - The Greenwood Schools superintendent is scheduled to step down this summer and will name his replacement in the spring.

Officials say David Edds plans to retire in June.

The school district has been using a search team to find potential candidates as his replacement. The team has completed the first round of interviews and plans to have made a selection by March or April, our partners at the Daily Journal report.

The new superintendent will be responsible for about 500 employees, create school policies, and set goals for student achievement.
