BARGERSVILLE, Ind. (WISH) - Lightning was blamed for a house fire that injured a firefighter Wednesday in Bargersville.
The firefighter was injured when a ceiling collapsed, Bargersville Community Fire Department said, and was taken to Community Hospital South as a precaution. He was cleared and released shortly thereafter.
Bargersville firefighters were called to the 3300 block of Waterside Court on Wednesday afternoon to fight the blaze. White River Township Fire Department also assisted.
Two residents were home at the time of the fire, but both escaped unharmed.
Three other fire alarms in the area at around the same time were also believed to be caused by a lightning strike and subsequent power surge.
