SHELBYVILLE, Ind. (WISH) - Shelbyville Police say they arrested a man on Friday who was driving a vehicle while intoxicated.
Thomas Workman of Shelbyville was arrested for Dangerous Operating while intoxicated and his portable breath test read .57%, the police release stated.
Workman was traveling southbound on State Road 9 where officers were able to monitor his driving before initiating a traffic stop.
Police stopped Workman at Harrison and Locust Street, where they gave him several field sobriety tests, which he failed.
Workman was transported to Major Hospital for a blood draw and then taken to the Shelby County Jail.
*Note of clarification: Based on the information we received from Shelbyville Police, we had reported that Thomas Workman was arrested with a .57 blood alcohol level. After being contacted by WISH-TV, Shelbyville Police confirmed that the actual test showed a .057 alcohol level, which is below the legal limit.
