ELLETTSVILLE, IN. (WISH) - A 19-year-old man is suffering from stab wounds and an 18-year-old is in custody following an argument over an Xbox 360.
The incident happened shortly after 8:00 pm Friday at the basketball courts located on Park Street in Ellettsville.
A witness told officers that 18-year-old Savon Phillips was inside a car when the victim ran up and began to argue over the Xbox.
The victim accused Phillips of stealing it and then he slapped Phillips in the face.
Phillips retaliated by stabbing the victim in the abdomen.
Officers interviewed numerous witnesses who all corroborated the account.
While police were questioning witnesses, Phillips contacted authorities.
Officers took him into custody and arrested him on charges of attempted murder, aggravated battery and battery with a deadly weapon.
The victim was taken to the hospital where he underwent emergency surgery for his injuries.
His identification and condition are being withheld at this time.
Phillips is being charged with attempted murder, an A felony, aggravated battery, a B felony, battery while armed, a C felony. His bond is set at $250,000.
